MEET THE TEAM
TEDxLosGatosHighSchool is hosted by the dedicated student leaders of Unconditionally Positive (UP). UP is a student run Peer to Peer education program that focuses on creating a more accepting and positive atmosphere at Los Gatos High School.
A sophomore at LGHS, Kirin is ecstatic to be joining the UP team for his first year! He plays basketball and golf for both school teams, and loves to be outdoors. Outside of school, he is the president of his class for Boys Team Charity (BTC), a corporation that focuses on volunteering to better our community. In his free time, Kirin hangs out with his friends, spends time with family, goes on runs with his mom, golfs with his dad, and plays the guitar.
Entering her senior year at LGHS, Rachelle is super excited for her second year in UP! Rachelle is also a member of Environmental Club, co-President of National Spanish Honor Society, volunteer for the Letter Project, and a trained Climate Reality Leader. You can find her running at the track for LGHS girl’s track team or going on runs with friends. In her free time, she loves to play piano, spend time with family, and go on adventures with her friends.
A junior at Los Gatos High School, Sonali is ecstatic to be part of the UP team, for her second year! This year Sonali is returning to Mock trial, Interact club, JV Cheer, and the school newspaper, El Gato. You can find Sonali desperately trying to finish her AP Calc AB homework, jamming to music, reading, or running. Outside of school, she loves to debate political issues, sing, and binge watch Gilmore Girls.
Entering into her second year as an UPster, junior Sophie Sullivan is stoked to continue spreading positivity and making waves with the rest of the Unconditionally Positive team. Outside of UP, Sophie swims for the high school’s swim team, is Co-President of the Interact Club, and is a Board Member of SafeRides of Los Gatos. A senior at Los Gatos High School, Anjali is having a great time in her second year on the UP team through encouraging positivity around school! She is also a member of the Los Gatos Youth Commission, where she enjoys discussing how to improve Los Gatos as well as enjoys promoting the arts and culture in our town. Anjali loves to sing, read, and develop her interest in science through fun research projects. In her free time, you can find Anjali hanging out with her friends, playing with her dog
As a senior at Los Gatos, Lilly is excited to continue as an Upster, but sad that it is her last year in the group. At home, you can catch Lilly rewatching Gilmore Girls, baking chocolate chip cookies, reading a good mystery novel, or playing with her two dogs. Besides being in UP, Lilly is involved in volunteering at Good Samaritan Hospital and in the leadership class as the Senior Class Vice President. She cannot wait to see what UP will be doing this year!
A Senior at Los Gatos High school, Kam is psyched for his second year as a member of the UP team. During normal times, Kam is an editor on the school’s peer to peer publication, Reality Check, he coaches a local youth basketball team, and he takes part in our local Congresswoman Anna Eshoo’s student advisory board. When he isn’t working on college apps, you will find him playing basketball with his friends, following Boston sports, or watching How I Met Your Mother.
As a Junior at LGHS, Tatum is looking forward to her first year in UP and can’t wait to help plan events that bring the school together, while also promoting positivity! At LGHS Tatum loves debating on the Mock Trial team and running school events as Junior Class VP. When she isn’t attempting to finish her AP Physics homework, you can find Tatum working on her nonprofit organization for global development, hiking the coast with her dad, drinking Philz iced tea or playing with her cats!
A Junior at Los Gatos High School, Bryn is excited to begin her first year on the UP team! Bryn enjoys performing for the school dancing team, running, and doing yoga. In her free time, you will probably find her playing with her dog, hiking with friends, or watching New Girl.
A senior at LGHS, Lexi is thrilled to be returning to the UP team for her third year. She is also a member of El Gato - the school newspaper - and a barista at Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company. When she’s not occupied with homework or crafting the perfect chai tea latte, Lexi loves to listen to country music, spend time with friends and family, and hike with her two dogs.
As a sophomore at LGHS, Julie is beyond thrilled and excited to be spreading positivity through UP for the first time this year! Aside from UP, Julie is involved with commitments revolving around teen mental health, helping new students around campus, and creating educational equity for schools across the state! You can always find Julie dancing anywhere and everywhere, shopping, volunteering for those in need, and either catching up on AP Euro homework or watching her favorite, Grey’s Anatomy!
Shreya, a senior at LGHS, is excited to be on the UP team for her third year. During the school year, you will find Shreya serving on the Los Gatos Youth Commission or volunteering around town. When she is not occupied with homework, Shreya enjoys spending time with her friends and family, watching movies, listening to music, and going to the beach.
Ian Moore is excited as he enters his junior year of high school, as well as his first year as a member of UP! He plays on the LGHS soccer team and is the bass player for the school jazz band. On weekends, you can likely find Ian playing the bass downtown with his jazz quartet, the Orange Ties, or performing with his band, Suburbamore. In his free time, Ian also enjoys listening to a wide variety of music, spending time with his friends, and watching sunrises and sunsets.
